Madonna and the Child Jesus (Luz) in Louis Vuitton Campaign?

Can this possibly be true?  They're saying that Madonna's current boy toy, "Jesus Luz" will join her in shoot for Louis Vuitton shot by Steven Meisel.  It was reported in the Cut... which is reputable, but their source?  Made in Brazil?

Jesus Luz first joined Madonna in that raunchy W Magazine spread in March.  And apparently she couldn't quit.  So he ended up following her to New York and basically everywhere else she went.  I thought they were "off again"... but who knows.

What is it about a Madonna and Jesus hook-up that just seems so very, very wrong?  You couldn't make this stuff up!!!

The Devil’s in the Louis Vuitton Details

Well, the truth is that the details are what saves the funky little get up that Mischa Barton wore for her Herbal Essence photo shoot in Milan Wednesday.

Without her Louis Vuitton Spicy Sandals, Louis Vuitton Initials Belt (one of my absolute favs!) and Louis Vuitton African Queen Limelight Clutch, this would be just another Grunge X modified MC Hammer mashup.

Work it girl!!!

Looks like Madonna's in for another go... I mean why not?  The last one got tons of press- and she and Marc have a little mutual love fest going on.  It's always good for the shoot when the behind the scenes chemistry is good.  Meisel's doing the pictures again... and I can't wait to see them!

What’s the most “Vegan” Luxe Handbag?

So, I don't know if you're following Dana Wood (of W Magazine)'s quest for fab Vegan accessories.  She isn't a Vegan, or even a strict Vegetarian... but I think she's enjoying the challenge of her search for really great Vegan shoes, boots and Bags!  And she's learning quickly how dang hard that search is!  So.... I thought maybe we could help her out?

The Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Naviglio has no leather on the outside- just a coated canvas azur damier bag with cotton canvas strap.  There's a smidge of leather leather inside- the trim for the pocket opening and the date code patch (tiny!!!)  I mean, it's really a sporty bag- or good for travel... but not really a party bag.

Anyone have any suggestions for Dana?

Vanessa and Ashley’s Louis Vuitton BFF Bag

Love this quote from the May 2009 Self Magazine that's coming out soon with Vanessa Hudgens on the cover.  She says:

“My biggest splurge was a purse from Louis Vuitton.  Ashley Tisdale and I each got one on different colors when we were on tour in Mexico. We call it our friendship purse. I don’t want to say how much it cost. I don’t like revisiting that place.”

Love it.  Back in the day I blogged about their Louis Vuitton Cuir Embossed Stephen bags in a HSM themed "who wears it better"... but I didn't know they were BFF bags!

In a sluggish economy- time to rock the Croc!

I'm thinking that exotics lovers are going to the secondary market to get their fix.  We're not seeing a slowdown in sales of exotic skinned bags at all, but apparently alligator farms are having a hard time in this sluggish economy.  Alligator farm owner Gerald Savoie, Jr. said:

“This is the worst I’ve ever seen...  It’s never been this bad. Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Versace, they’re not buying. And if they’re not buying, we’re not selling.”

I know I'm beating this dead horse- (and I hate that phrase- the poor horse!)-- but really.  "Fusion art"?  Come on now.

In case you've forgotten the formula (and how could you since literally EVERYONE is doing it...)

1.  Take one unexpected item- Gun, Bullet, Electric Chair, Statue of African Baby, Lollipop, piece of Classic Art

2.  Add internationally recognizable luxury brand signature monogram- LV, CC, GG, FF, YSL, Dior

3.  Find an Art Gallery- and open your exhibit!

Seriously, though.  Who isn't doing this? I guess luxury brands spend millions and millions of dollars promoting their brand's marks- so folks are going to do what they can to make a little money on it.

I love that I want to say "why would we care"... but obviously I'm blogging it... :)

Jim Jones’ “Louie Vitton” Recording Studio

Yikes... can't imagine Louis Vuitton's going to like this much. Especially after how they went after TI and his Rag. LV's really been coming down on the whole "unauthorized use" thing (think Britney, Ruben Studdard, Danity Kane, etc. etc.). With their trademarks being counterfeited left and right, they do their best to defend their intellectual property rights. Smart to keep the value of that name up.

I'm totally shocked that the Louis Vuitton monogram doesn't give Jim Jones flashbacks. He's found himself in a legal mess because he brawled Ne Yo in front of the Fifth Avenue Louis Vuitton boutique.
