Does Marc Jacobs Recycle?

Marc Jacob Flights of Fancy

I was just perusing BagSnob, when I came across this post on Marc by Marc Jacob's Flights of Fancy shopper and Marc Jacobs Cat bag...

And I had major flashbacks back to 2002 and Marc's cool leather & canvas patchwork Conte De Fees collaboration with artist Julie Verhoeven.

And I was just thinking of how much they remind me of each other...

I mean... Marc was part of the mastermind behind the 2002 collaboration... so afterall, it's his own work he's recycling.

That Marc’s such a Funny Bunny!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

So the CFDA Awards are coming up- and the CFDA Journal is the rag that features all of the nominees and their work.  Well, photographer Craig McDeanand and stylist Karl Templer thought it would be a cool idea to showcase the designers wearing their own stuff.

I love seriously Marc in the bunny ears.  He totally pulls them off.  I'm finally catching the vision!

Marc-O, Polo

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

It makes sense... I mean not only is it a super posh sport- but Louis Vuitton owns Veuve Clicquot, the sponsor of the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic in New York.  Marc Jacobs was there to represent, as well as the face of Louis Vuitton again this season, Madonna- with her son David Banda.

Love the bag that LL Cool J's wife Simone Smith picked for the event!  Gold's so hot right now- and the Louis Vuitton Gold Miroir Alma looks fantastic with the rich colors in Simone's Maxi dress!

This bag is very hard to get your hands on... but we've got an authentic, pre-owned  Louis Vuitton Gold Miroir Alma right now on our www.fashionphile.com website.

Be sure to check it out right HERE!

Marc sees nothing luxurious about traveling with a Trunk

Friday, May 8th, 2009

"I don't think there's anything practical about traveling with a trunk. Luxury travel is traveling with a toothbrush. That's it, end of story. The people who really live luxurious lives don't need to pack. They've got stuff wherever they go."  WWD

Looks like he practices what he preaches... remember the pics of Marc Jacobs with his fiance Lorenzo Martone at the Heliport at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.  Notice, not a trunk (or suitcase) in sight!

Louis Vuitton claims that trunks are all about motion, but we all know trunks today are all about decoration and organization- or based on the picture of Marc below- recreation?

Marc Jacobs Louis Vuitton Show

That's Marc saying "sayonara" to all the hopeful single men (and women) around the globe.

Rumors had been flying but know it's confirmed:  Marc Jacobs and his ad exec boyfriend, Lorenzo Martone are getting hitched.

Marc Jacobs show

No, he hasn't lost more weight.  The Cut, is reporting that in response to the struggling economy, Marc Jacobs is not only canceling his Fashion Week after party, but he's reducing the number of invitees to his show- from 2000 to 700!

Apparently, in the past there would be 1,100 sitting and 900 standing, but now there will only be 500 to 700 sitting with only 200 standing.  Those 200 will be mostly employees.  When asked if any celebrities would be attending, MJ's business partner Robert Duffy responded, "There may be one or two."

I love this quote:

"Just think of how many security details are needed to save Posh Spice from asphyxiation in the photographer crush. And the number of burlies to guard the extra seat Kanye West needs for his ego — er, monogramoflauge Louis Vuitton bag."

And the Title that The Cut gave for Patrick McMullan's picture above?

"Nice knowing the half of you in the back there."

Marc Jacobs, Still working the Skort

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

So this is Kanye West and MJ at the Louis Vuitton men's show.

Marc Jacobs Skort...

Yet again, MJ sporting what my 8 year old calls "skorts".  They're a little bit skirt and a little bit short.

Marc Jacobs Skirt Skort

I love that Marc Jacobs is doing all he can to single handedly make "Skorts For Men" cool.  Think about it.  When do you see MJ in anything BUT skorts lately?   You dont'!  I mean, I think it really is a little personal campaign to bring SFM to the mainstream.   I mean, skorts for women (girls over the age of my 8 year old) just aren't cool at all.  In fact, off the tennis court, they're pretty much the opposite of cool.  So, I wish him luck!

You gotta hand it to the guy though- he's totally going for it... and I love that!

Got the top pic from Kanye's blog.  He's got a bunch more pictures up if you're curious.  Take a look.

For pics from the show- check WWD.

Marc Jacobs, Uncovered

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

No... sorry, I'm not posting anymore of the pics of Marc in nothing but graffiti paint.

This is a nice article from the Telegraph with some intereting little tidbits on our very own MJ!

Loving the Skort!

Marc Jacobs Skort

MJ's been seriously digging the man skirt- but the one he wore to the Louis Vuitton X Vogue Magazine release party was actually more of what my girls call a skort!

Marc Jacobs loving the pin ups

Raunchy photog Terry Richardson was behind the lens for the pin-up calendar that Louis Vuitton & Vogue partnered up on.

You can read the rest of the story... and see the N(necessarily)SFW photos of the calendar at WWD and fashionologie.

What do you think of Marc's skort???

In case you missed it…
