Looks like star of the next “Core Values” Louis Vuitton Journey spot has been chosen. They picked another oldie (but goodie!), Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon! Annie Leibovitz is doing the shoot, and they are headed out to a desert somewhere in the US for the setting. Apparently, he’s gonna be pictured with astronauts Jim Lovell and Sally Ridge.
Notice the trend here since the Aggassis? Catherine Deneuve (1943), Gorbachev (1931), Keith Richards (1943), Sean Connery (1930), Francis Ford Coppola (1939)- ok, so Sofia was in the shot too… and she’s clealy young since she’s just a year older than me
and finally, the youngster of the bunch, Madonna (1958).

Wow! Nice work… Sir Sean Connery- every bit earning his title! That is one gorgeous man.
I’m loving the next instillation of Louis Vuitton’s “Core Values” campaign. For this one, Annie Leibovitz shot Sir Connery outside, on a wood dock in the sand and surf at his own home in the Bahamas! Notice the watch set at 10:07!
For a beach scene? The monogram Waterproof Keepall- a perfect choice!
The tagline says: “There are journeys that turn into legends.”
Have you noticed a trend in the men featured in Louis Vuitton’s Core Values campaign?
- Sean Connery: age 78
- Mikhail Gorbachev: age 77
- Francis Ford Coppola: age 69
- Keith Richards: age 66
Interesting?

The whispers are that Louis Vuitton has picked original 007, Sean Connery to glam for Annie Leibovitz’s cam in its latest “Core Values” campaign.
You remember the campaign… the one that featured Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola just a few months ago, and got major buzz from spots with Keith Richards and Mikhail Gorbachev in the past?

It isn’t coming up on the US site yet, but you can take a sneak peek on Louis Vuitton Japan.
I really do love that Louis Vuitton is getting back to what made it a great company- the focus on travel- the “Journey”.
This is the most recent installment of Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign. LV/Marc Jacobs have pulled together a Motley Crew for these spots. We’ve been graced with learning more from Louis Vuitton on the Journey’s of Keith Richards, Steffi Graf, and Andre Agassi so far, are Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola.

As we reported back in April.
Here they are relaxing in Argentina… Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola for Louis Vuitton Journey in their Core Values campaign…
Did you miss her comments on her experience with Annie Leibovitz?
So beautiful. Cool that the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM at her feet has a nice little patina.
Anyway, I’ll be back in a bit with more…

(Sofia in the Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse leopard print scarf)
Well, I guess this confirms the rumor.
The Times Online Fashion Department asked Sophia why she agreed to do the Annie Leobovitz X Louis Vuitton Core Values- Journeys ad spot with her father Francis Ford Coppola:
I liked the ad Annie shot with Keith Richards. It was flattering to be asked. Plus I’ve known Marc Jacobs since I was 18. We had mutual friends and started hanging out together. I remember asking my mom to take me to see Perry Ellis when he was designing there. I still have a box of clothes from that grunge collection somewhere. It’s great to work with Annie – she did a good portfolio on the set of Marie Antoinette. She just selects one picture and then shows it to you. But I think that’s good. My dad and I were both like, yeah, whatever you want, this is your shoot. On your own set you want it exactly your own way, but we can get with someone else’s vision too.
and:
Obviously I love Marc Jacobs and Acne jeans which I wear all the time. Today I’m wearing a little knitted dress from See by Chloé, flat wedges from Louboutin. Really I should be wearing Vuitton, but I’m actually not that into status, although I have a little LV duffle bag that I travel with.

Not that it matters, but I was just noticing the difference between the Annie Lebovitz/ Keith Richards spot for Louis Vuitton- on the website… and the one they put up on the billboards and in magazines.
Don’t know why they cleaned up the guitar case- but gotta love photoshop!

As we’ve known since back in April… there’s major buzz going around that Annie Lebovitz was down in Argentina shooting Sofia and her Francis Ford Coppola for the upcoming Core Values/ Journey’s Campaign for Louis Vuitton.
Well, at the Louis Vuitton blogger’s breakfast last Thursday, The Director of Advertising, Eric Lichtmess revealed that a “couple” would be featured in the next instillation of the Journey’s Campaign.
So the bloggers may have gotten a hot new tip- and there’s another couple up the pike (they already did an amazing spread on Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff).
Or… Sofia and Francis Ford are the “couple”.
Was Lichtmess just trying to make our bloggers feel “in the loop”, when he’s already dished out the real scoop to Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, WWD and other more mainstream media outlets over a month ago?
Hmm… Only time will tell.
