Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it. It should. Louis Vuitton is opening its flagship store in the famous shopping Canton Road. It's the largest in the world, outside of Paris.
It's HUGE! Four levels- 1749 square meters. That's 18,826.23 square feet! What a fantastic way to get a workout... walk laps, do stairs. Who needs the gym?
I'm dying to see it. I'll post pictures of Friday night's opening celebration as soon as I get them. Kanye West, Chow Yun Fat, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Marc Jacobs and Chinese Supermodel Du Juan were there.
Who knows what the heck Murakami's new Monogram Camouflage or Monogramouflage or Monouflage or Monoflage (I've seen it spelled all three ways!) is going to look like. The picture above is a Murakami Camo- but his Louis Vuitton collaboration will be a camo line in Monogram- so we'll just have to see. All we can be sure of right now is that it's going to be hot!
Here's what you need to know:
The @Murakami Exhibit that I've blogged about ad nauseum will open to the public at the Brooklyn Museum on April 5
Louis Vuitton will again "open shop" there.
There will be multicolor monogram handbags and small leather goods
There will be limited edition art canvasses also for sale that feature the new "Monogramouflage" design
At the museum, they will be previewing this new Louis Vuitton collection the night of the April 3 Gala
Murakami also promised, "I will be introducing new characters"
The line will then launch at the Brooklyn store beginning June 1
This line will be sold at a select number of Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide starting June 15
At the Gala, in addition to a performance by Kanye West, there will be a special performance in an effort to raise awareness of the international problem of counterfeits...
As in, buy any item on Elux that is valued at $250 or more (basically, practically any Louis Vuitton item) and you don't have to pay for 90 days. That's right... they send you a bill... and you don't have to pay a darned thing for 90 days.
I mean, it sounds like the sales pitch for a cheap furniture company, but it just might do the trick in this lagging economy. You can read more about the "Bill Me Later" service here.
Well... I thought it would be fun to pit sisters against sisters. So what do you think? Who's wearing the Louis Vuitton Cerises Speedy 25 Better? The Hilton's or the Simpsons?
I have a hard time calling it for the Hilton sisters- because poor Jessica is clearly just out picking up some milk at Ralphs. And, I think we can all agree that the black hair phase was never a good one for Ashley.
I'm going to have to go with Nikky Hilton here. She's looking so good it doesn't matter that Paris is wearing Dr. Pepper sweats.
What do you think? I love Agyness Deyn, but what do you think of her Richard Prince for Louis Vuitton "The Graduate" bag?
(13.3" x 11.3" x 5.8" $2475 retail)
It's a good sized bag- and actually... I like the back side better. You know, the "not funny" side- the one that you see in Agyness' picture above. I know... "do I have no sense of humor?"
Truth is, "The Graduate" I would carry- I could NOT pull off that jacket! Agyness looks fashion forward- I'd look like I hadn't shopped since junior high.
I know it seems that I've posted about this again and again and again... but it's pretty dang interesting to me. I also want to make sure I put stuff up when I'm not seeing it other places.
This is an awesome "behind the scenes" video of the Keith Richards/ Annie Leibovitz photo shoot for Louis Vuitton.
Oh, I love this picture... Beyonce looks so relaxed. I love all the white, and the fact that it looks like her Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly has a seat of her own! The Polka Dot Bowly has fabulous white shading- fade... and it just looks fab in this picture!
(Here's what the Bowly looks like on Beyonce without the distraction of her fab bod!)
As you know... this was a limited edition piece. Maybe you have a real job, and can't sit by the beach or pool on your laptop all day like Beyonce. You can still have her casual look- minus the bikini- by carrying the same bag!
Of course, you can't get it anymore from Louis Vuitton- but we have a fabulous bearly pre-owned authentic Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly now on our www.fashionphile.com website. Come take a look!
OK... I've been watching the whole Paris Hilton/ Benji Madden publicity stunt unfold. And I've been wanting to post on Paris' monogram Louis Vuitton beanie... but I just kept staring at Benji. He has been looking so familiar to me lately! Well, doing my last blog, it came to me- like a flash of inspiration! He's looking more and more like the Classic newer, pudgy Boy George! From his choice in head-gear, to his all black clothes, and preferred foot-ware! (Yes, I did match that arrow with BG's fabulous eyeshadow!)
(My sister Emily and bro-in-law Ben were driving down Canon a couple days ago here in Beverly Hills, and Paris & Benji crossed the road in front of them. Emily almost didn't recognize her- because she was totally dressed like him... but they were being followed by a Paparazzi (single one- interestingly enough) and so made sure to get a good look!)
No brainer. Annie summoned Sara Jessica Parker to New York City for an upcoming Vogue Magazine cover shoot based on the new Sex in the City movie.
Can't wait to see it. I'm telling you, that monogram hard luggage is so freaking photogenic, you just really almost can't go wrong. It takes all kind of pressure of the model. Notice I did say, almost.
Wow... Classic Boy George, and Grace Jones in that 80's flap ear hat. Even a fabulous piece of Louis Vuitton luggage couldn't save the look.
Am I sheltered or what? I had no idea that Elle Magazine had a Ukrainian Edition- let alone that Yulia Tymoshenko was their fabulous Prime Minister (go ahead... check the Wiki on her, and find out more about why she wears her hair in the traditional Ukrainian peasant girl braids).
When I say fabulous- I have to clarify, I'm totally clueless about her politics. All I know is her wardrobe. She's really, unbelievable. Go ahead, Google her!
She's a billionaire who earned her money as the "Gas Princess"... with the privatization of oil and gas in the Ukraine in the 90's. And she likes to spend her money on great clothes and bags... particularly, Louis Vuitton. She's been known to buy an entire Louis Vuitton line- and flies to Paris to meet with LV to arrange her wardrobe. If you can read Ukranian (is that a language? ) then check this blog for more info. Even if you can't, it has some great pictures of her in some of her Louis Vuitton favorites.
I like her in this Louis Vuitton Suhali Le Talentueux. Her signature color is white, so a white Suhali is a natural for her. It's a classy bag- that looks professional- but with an edge. Yulia's kind of like that.
If you're kind of like that- maybe you need to pick up a Le Tal for yourself. If you aren't a Gas Billionaire- we can help you to get one for much less than retail.
