Nuts for the Louis Vuitton Mancrazy…

Louis Vuitton Richard Prince Mancrazy

Another Richard Prince bag, another opportunity for me to blog about Prince’s Nurse fetish!

Richard Prince's Naughty Nurses

We’re excited to have an authentic Richard Prince for Louis Vuitton Mancrazy bag. “Mancrazy”, you might ask yourself. “what a strange name. I wonder how he came up with that one?” Well, that’s why I’m here :)

OK… again, Richard Prince is into somewhat rauchy (OK… at least to me, “adult” at least) Naughty Nurse pulp fiction. (Read all about it on my last blog on the subject.)

Man-Crazy Nurse Peggy Gaddis

So in 1963, Peggy Gaddis came out with the book, “Man-Crazy Nurse”. Peggy also wrote under the name Peggy Dern. I haven’t found the paperback that inspired the pose of the nurse on RP’s versions. (If you find it, please let me know!)

Richard Prince was obviously inspired by this one in particular, because he painted three versions of it…

Richard Prince Man-Crazy Nurse #1
(Richard Prince’s Man-Crazy Nurse #1)

Richard Prince Man-Crazy Nurse #2
(Richard Prince’s Man-Crazy Nurse #2)

Richard Prince Man-Crazy Nurse #3
(Richard Prince’s Man-Crazy Nurse #3)

I think he got better with each version.

He obviously, also named the fab Limited Edition Louis Vuitton Mancrazy pictured above after this book. I love, love, love how the colors in his paintings- warm reds and oranges, translate on the bag. But does this also work on the arm?

Toni Damlia Aberge Louis Vuitton Mancrazy

Yikes, Toni Damli Aaberge… simmer down, girl! You’re looking too hot to handle! I totally LOVE this look and the Mancrazy makes it!

What do you think?

No LE in Brooklyn? Try the Louis Vuitton Classic China Run!

Louis Vuitton Classic China Run 2008 bags

OK, I know it’s disappointing that Louis Vuitton didn’t come up with any Limited Edition items that were “special” for the Brooklyn Museum Exhibit- but check out what they are releasing for the Louis Vuitton Classic, China Run 2008!

This is an amazing set of limited edition monogram pieces. (You know how I feel about a little color/customization on traditional monogram or damier! LOVE it!) We’ve got the Keepall 55, a fab monogram Naviglio, a Zippy Organizer wallet, some sweet leather driving shoes, and of course a killer pair of retro lunettes! Here’s the logo you’ll find on those items:

Louis Vuitton loved cars. I guess it’s a guy thing. And of course, Louis Vuitton tries to work with any vehicle of transportation. The Louis Vuitton Classic has been around since 1989. There is a pretty cool “flash” presentation on the History of Louis Vuitton and the Classic on their website.

The last Louis Vuitton Classic in China was 10 years ago- in 1998. This year, the Classic will run from May 23 until June 1, in China.

Louis Vuitton has negotiated a special First Class travel package. Book your trip here!

Limited Edition Gold Louis Vuitton Marilyn at the Brooklyn Museum

Hmmm, so I (like you) have been dying to know what if any limited edition pieces will be sold at the @Murakami exhibit Louis Vuitton store in Brooklyn. The MOCA LE pieces were a huge hit- so it’s made me super curious.

Emily and Ben (my sister and brother-in-law) are hopefully going to get me some pictures (depending on how sneaky they can be)… but it looks like at least we’re going to be able to pick up Limited Edition Multicolore Marilyn bags- black and white, with gold instead of Vachetta leather trim.  We’re getting conflicting info as to the price, but it looks to be between $1500-$1550.

The Multicolore Marilyn is the bag featured in 33 colors of exotic skins packed and displayed in an amazing matching white Louis Vuitton Multicolore Trunk especially designed to house them- it was at MOCA and will be at the Brooklyn Museum as well.

The New York Times reported about the Louis Vuitton store at @Murakami… talked about having the Monogramouflage canvases for sale, Multicolore items for sale and (this caught my eye):

“Other leather goods designed for the show will be for sale too.”

Murakami also promised, “I will be introducing new characters”- but whether these will be Louis Vuitton items with Murakami characters or just one of the many Murakami items available… I just don’t know.

I love this parting line from the NYT article about the MOCA Louis Vuitton store:

“The Los Angeles show attracted young people who had never been to the museum. “Many of the kids were first-time visitors, who came because they heard about the show through various kinds of cross-branding,” Mr. Schimmel said. “Names like Louis Vuitton, Kanye West and eBay.”

Louis Vuitton Hong Kong’s Limited Edition…

Louis Vuitton Gold Miroir Bellevue GM

Well… what do you think.  Louis Vuitton often offers limited edition pieces in the celebration of different events or launches.  The Hong Kong opening was no different.

We’ve got yet another miroir “limited” edition bag- the Gold and Silver Miroir Bellevue PM ($1430) & GM ($1755).

Gold Louis Vuitton Miroir Bellevue

There are a couple pairs of gold and silver shoes…

Louis Vuitton Sequin shoes

Only 20 pairs are being made.  The gold ones are for sale at the Landmark store- the Silver at Canton Road for a mere $3400.

Hong Kong Louis Vuitton Ursula Strass

… Some sunglasses.  These are called Ursula Strass.  Only 300 are being made- and they’ll cost you less than the Millionaires at least: $550.

Nitrolicious has pictures of more shoes, some funky gold pants- and my favorite, the men’s damier hot pants.  What’s there not to love about that? :)

Wear What She’s (kind of) Wearing: Beyonce’s Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly

Beyonce Louis Vuitton Denim Bowly

Oh, I love this picture… Beyonce looks so relaxed. I love all the white, and the fact that it looks like her Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly has a seat of her own! The Polka Dot Bowly has fabulous white shading- fade… and it just looks fab in this picture!

(Here’s what the Bowly looks like on Beyonce without the distraction of her fab bod!)

Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly

As you know… this was a limited edition piece. Maybe you have a real job, and can’t sit by the beach or pool on your laptop all day like Beyonce. You can still have her casual look- minus the bikini- by carrying the same bag!

Of course, you can’t get it anymore from Louis Vuitton- but we have a fabulous bearly pre-owned authentic Louis Vuitton Denim Polka Dot Bowly now on our www.fashionphile.com website. Come take a look!

In Honor of the 80th Annual Academy Awards: the Oskar!

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Well, the nominees were just announced on Tuesday. And since I’m, quite frankly long overdue for a good awards show (since the debacle with the canceled Golden Globes)- I thought I’d get geared up for the Oscars: The 80th Annual Academy Awards, by spotlighting one of my all time favorite bags- The Louis Vuitton “Oskar” Waltz.

I mean, WOW!!! Is she photogenic, or what? No…. not Angie Harmon (although, she is looking hot!) But, that Oskar!

The combo of the traditional monogram with contrasting ostrich, lizard, python and fabulous accenting Cabochons is simply stunning!

It was a Fall/Winter 2005 introduction- limited edition and immediately completely sold out. It’s rarely seen today, even on eBay. But guess who’s got one? :)

She’s just a gorgeous bag- there’s no way around it. We are so pleased to be able to present this authentic Louis Vuitton Monogram Oskar Waltz on eBay right now. If you have any questions about it- please drop me a note.  And click on the link to see a ton more pictures!

But don’t trust us! Go ahead, ask Oprah!

It’s Happily Ever After for Louis Vuitton’s Prince Charming

Friday, January 4th, 2008

**

Well, at least it’s a happy ending to Richard Prince’s “Spiritual America” exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York on January 9. I know Prince fans will probably sniff, sniff at the close of the exhibit, but fashionphiles from near and far are ready for a party!

On Tuesday the 8th, Louis Vuitton will throw a grande finale soiree in celebration of the close of the exhibit.

Much to the chagrin of “real life” working nursing professionals, Richard Prince has always had a thing about naughty nurses- and the same ones that showed up for his Louis Vuitton fashion show will be milling about carrying the highly anticipated new Prince/Marc Jacobs/Vuitton collaboration bags.

If you’ve got a hankering for one of these distinctive limited edition bags, and don’t want to wait until their release date, February 1- all you need is an invititation to the ball! Those at the party will be able to order one there!

** P.S. Don’tcha think that Richard Prince needs to take some publicity shots? He’s a famous fashion icon now, and all the pictures of him look a little creepy. Maybe a smile would help?
