Yep, the Candyscape was listed at $19.5 million- and is now on sale for a bargain $16.25 million.  If that’s too rich for your blood, it charters for $225,000 or $190,000 (gulp) a week during the low season!

The bathroom of this vessel is lined with what is listed as the “leather” from antique Louis Vuitton trunks.  It appears to me that the canvas may be from old trunks.  The leather and hardware doesn’t look original.  Either way, this “huge discount” is supposed to be a sign of the effect of the credit crunch on the valuation of luxury yachts.

I think we’re in the wrong business!

So rumors are flying that it’s a wrap on the Louis Vuitton x Madonna photoshoot by Steven Meisel.  Apparently, it went down on Friday.  If you do a shoot in Argentina (like the Coppolas) it’s possible to keep secrets.  But when you’re shooting right here in LA, you know word’s gonna get out!

As Rock the Trend pointed out- here’s so much information available that you can can almost picture how it probably went down and can practically visualize the end result.

Here’s what’s going around the blogosphere:

• Steven Meisel took the pics, not Mert & Marcus (click here to reminise) or Alas & Piggott- as had been rumored (WWD, last time Madge & Meisel worked together, was or the cover & spread in Vanity Fair May 2008.  The picture at the top of this post is from this spread as well.  They’re old friends- who can forget his pictures in Madonna’s infamous Sex Book!)

• it went down on Friday at the Cafe Figaro in Los Angeles- check out its cool old bar below (Read the post & the comments on Diva Report’s post.)

• Meisel likes the French look of the Figaro Bistro check out the pics he shot for the September 2007 Vogue Magazine titled Paris, Je T’aime (check out all the pics at artemislives for foto decadent)

• Garren did her hair.   You can see what it looked like in the picture below from Friday night after the shoot and a little worship at the Kabbalah Center.  According to Drowned Madonna- Garren worked on the VF May 2008 shoot too!  (More pics at Madge-Tribe)

• it was styled by Marie Amelie Sauve so you know it’s gonna have a French vibe- Sauve’s the fashion editor for Vogue Paris and Balenciaga consultant (stylerumor)-

It’ll be really interesting to see how close the shoot is to the image I’ve got in my head!

I love the picture of the Louis Vuitton Damier (Graphite?) Bisten 70 in amongst the icy slush in Greenland.  (The other pictures in this layout are equally stunning.  Be sure to check them out!)

But, either there was a MAJOR Louis Vuitton price decrease on the Damier Bisten 70 or The New York Time’s premier issue of “T Magazine” has quoted the price with a dollar sign in front of it, instead of a pound symbol.  Either way, this amazing case retails for $4480 (instead of the $2200 printed in the Mag.)

Of course, we do have an authentic Louis Vuitton Damie Bisten 70 on our website right now.  (It’s the third from the bottom).  We’re selling it with a 65, 60 and 55 in a wonderful set at a huge bargain.  You’re almost getting 4 cases for the price of 2.  Amazing!

Forget cake!  (Although, as you see above, Louis Vuitton has made special order trunks especially for transporting cakes!)

In these desperate times- I love the sentiment.  I mean, Louis Vuitton only does special order trunks for things (or critters) that need to be moved.  So next time your friends are getting together for hors d’oeuvres, you’ll be able to haul your finest Almas Caviar along in its own custom fitted Louis Vuitton Taiga Carrying Case (complete with serving spoon, plates, and individual caviar spoons).  Again, as the market continues to sour, Louis Vuitton clearly says, “what economic meltdown?”

You know, the Show Me State!  There’s an amazing Katherine Dunham: Beyond the Dance exhibit that just opened at the Missouri History Museum.   They have one of her vintage Louis Vuitton shoe trunks on display.

It’s well traveled and you can just see that it’s got stories to tell.  I’d have loved to see it filled with her beautiful dance shoes!  Read more about her amazing life HERE.

Like the authentic pre-owned Louis Vuitton Richard Prince Graduate jokes bag pictured above?  It’s currently up only up to $721 on eBay- no reserve.  Naturally, we hope it goes higher- but we’re letting it go for what YOU think it’s worth!

You go girl. I haven’t seen this show, but Bette Midler isn’t skimping on the Louis Vuitton trunks and luggage for the set of her current production, “The Showgirl Must Go On!“.

I’d heard that she started with quite a collection of Louis Vuitton trunks and cases, but it looks like she’s added more!

I mean.  It makes sense.  Given the opportunity, would you?
