No junk in his trunk…

 Goyard Trunk BBC

First off… love the custom display trunk that Goyard cooked up for Pharell Willliams’ Billionaire Boy’s Club display at the new and improved Colette in Paris.  Goyard is an amazing malletier- Iconic and full of history… and the display looks incredible.

My only thought was… I wonder what the good folks over at Louis Vuitton “think”.  I mean, they’ve given Pharell the chance to collaborate on the Louis Vuitton Blason jewelry line- and he’s front and center at all the shows, etc.  Wonder if they “care” that Pharell had Goyard do the display?

I mean, there are only two real players in the custom luxury trunk business, Louis Vuitton and Goyard.  Just wondering if they’d take it as a slight?

Louis Vuitton Diamond belt
(From Pharrell William’s BBC Blog)

I guess you gotta have some serious carats going on down below to balance out the rocks in his ears.

I do love the Louis Vuitton LV on fleur. Gotta get a good close up and price on this Blason piece.

Takashi goes Old School- Louis Vuitton Style

Takashi Murakami, Kanye West, Will Pharrell
(Pic credit: Kanye West via his blog)

Nigo opened the first Bape Store in LA yesterday and everyone showed up… of course you have Kanye West and buddy Pharrell Williams, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Jermaine Dupri, and Pete Wentz, but our eyes were on Takashi Murakami.

Nice headband! Reminded me of another “Farrell”.  Murakami got one cause he’s Murakami, but they aren’t available yet here in the US.  They’ll be released as a entire gym set… complete with headband, wristbands, and towel to wipe the sweat of your elliptical.

P.S. Can someone please explain to me who owns what… I mean, I know BBC is a Pharrell Williams/ Nigo collaboration- but that E-Online article calls the LA Bape Store, Pharrell’s and doesn’t even mention Nigo in passing. And what about Kanye West’s Pastelle?

Louis Vuitton inspired Bape Nintendo DS

Bape Nintendo DS Louis Vuitton

Don’t let my kids see this one.  They’ll just see the cute little monkeys (baby Milo specifically) and not the fact that although may retail for $165, it’s sold out. So good luck catching one for anywhere near that price. The only one available right now on eBay is selling for $550!

Wonder what Louis Vuitton thinks of the inspiration? I know they didn’t like the Burlington Coat Factory Murakami inspired bags.

Maybe since Nigo (Bathing Ape founder) collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the Louis Vuitton Millionaires Sunnies- AND since Louis Vuitton’s new Monogramouflage is clearly “inspired by” Bape Camouflage… AND since Nigo is tight with Takashi Murakami and Kanye West… AND finally, since the DS isn’t a purse- Louis Vuitton will look the other way.

Louis Vuitton’s Murakami Monogramouflage: Look Familiar?

Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage Murakami
(picture via WWD)

Does Louis Vuitton’s Monogramouflage look familiar? My first thought upon seeing it was “Bape”! But really, this pop camo really has just been done before- I mean, think Tomoaki “Nigo” Nagao’s Bape Camo (A Bathing Ape), or Pharell William’s Billionaire Boy’s Club camo. Take a look:

Bape Bathing Ape Camo
(Bathing Ape Camo)

Billionaire Boys Club BBC Camo
(BBC Camo)

Takashi Murakami Monogramouflage
(Murakami Monogramouflage)

I mean, are you following me?

Bathing Ape Billionaire Boys Monogramouflage

Don’t get me wrong. Both Bape and BBC are great companies. And clearly, the founders of both are friends and contemporaries with Murakami- so perhaps this influenced him?

(Murakami, BBC’s Williams & Bape’s Nigo from the BBC Blog on the Murakami MOCA Preview Show)

Don’t get me wrong… as I blogged about a couple weeks ago- Murakami has a history in Camo.  And I guess, everyone else is doing camo- so why not! What do you think?

Pharrell Williams to design bags for Louis Vuitton?

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

That’s what he hints at.  This is a great interview with Pharrell Williams and his co-designer, Camile Miceli about the Louis Vuitton Blason fine jewelry line.

First Images of Louis Vuitton’s Blason Jewelry Line…

Monday, January 21st, 2008
(Old pic of Pharrell- diamonds are this boy’s best friend!)

We’ve been waiting to see the unveiling of the Louis Vuitton “Blason” jewelry collection designed by Pharrell Williams & Camille Miceli… and these are the first images from Pharrell.

There’s a ton of bling going on there… and it ain’t cheap. Rumors are that the line ranges from $2,070 to $621,000.

I can’t tell what they all are from the pics. Obviously a bracelet with a ton of ice! Then, we’ve got the little golden cherub ring- is she holding a diamond solitaire? Is that a diamond shield shaped ring? And then I really don’t know what the top left piece is… any guesses?

Can’t wait to see more!
