I’ve been wanting to move my blog to “my place” for a while now… and just finally convinced Jesse (my brother and our web & trunk guy- you may have seen him in our Evolution of Beauty- Louis Vuitton Trunk Style video!) to do it!!! He’s an industrial designer and wears so many hats around here!!!

Again, comparing nearly anyone at pretty much any time to Angelina Jolie is just plain mean. In fairness- Ms. Electra is clearly in a hurry or is all excited about whatever it is she just heard on the phone. But still, this one’s one of those easy picks. Even with her shirt hanging off her skinny little shoulders- Angelina’s look is white hot!
Carmen & Angelina obviously get the versitility and simple style- both are seen wearing this bag quite a bit! (Angelina also has the Mezzo- which I blogged about in my “Mom bag” post).
But, what’s there not to love about the Louis Vuitton Monogram Cabas Piano? It’s the smallest of the triplet- with its big sisters, the Mezzo & discontinued Alto. You can have this look too… you could obviously go down to your local boutique or onto www.eluxury.com and pick one up for $995 plus tax… or, you could stop on by our FASHIONPHILE eBay listings and take a look at the authentic pre-owned monogram Louis Vuitton Cabas Piano that we have listed! Yep, she’s clearly loving it! I do this with shirts… If I like the look and the way that it fits, then I’ll buy the black, the brown and the white. But I’ve never done it with bags. Do you?
It’s interesting, because she takes the Louis Vuitton Epi Soufflot: a relatively conservative bag- and just really makes it scorch! Exhibit A:

I also find it quite hilarious, because she loves the bag- but is clueless about what it’s called. In an interview with Stylehive during F/W 2008 New York Fashion Week, she was asked what her “fashion essentials” were. Her answer?
“Well I have about eight I don’t know what they’re called, I call them “the log.” The Louis Vuitton bag that looks like a log with straps.”

OK… I have some good news, and some bad news. What do you want first?
Well, since I kind of spilt it in my blog title AND since this is a totally unsubstantiated- well, moderately substatiated rumor, we’ll go with the potentially very GOOD news.
It looks like we may be getting a new Louis Vuitton Boutique at La Cumbre Plaza mall in Santa Barbara!
Yahoo, right?
Well, it looks like it’s coming at a price. Apparently, La Cubre’s owner the Macerich Co. is going for a more posh, high-end feel… ergo the influx of shops like Tiffany Co. & … Louis Vuitton.
The problem is that, those rental spots aren’t just coming out of thin air. It seems that long time (sixteen year) tenant The Body Shop, is getting squeezed out of it’s space to make room. Justine Roddick, daughter of The Body Shop founder Anita Roddick (who passed away just last September),
“I was very surprised to come back from my Christmas holiday to find the store was shutting area resident and [Macerich] asked us to get out ASAP, which I find rather sad considering all the years La Cumbre was a mall nobody really wanted to go to and The Body Shop was very loyal to them and stayed there paying rent.”
Hmmm, that’s too bad. The store is closing January 31, but a sign in the store currently reads:
“Mall management is kicking The Body Shop out of the mall after 16 years of business. If you have any strong feeling towards this matter, please fill out a comment card. We greatly appreciate your business, and we will miss you all.”
Ouchie!
So, Justine and a store employee are spinning the story about Louis Vuitton taking it’s place… but Michael Guerin, Macerich senior manager of leasing won’t comment on it.
We’re excited about the even slim possibility of a getting a new Boutique in such a wonderful town/ mall- but let’s hope that The Body Shop finds a great new home really soon!

I know… I know… it’s just plain mean to even put up the question.
But isn’t it cool to see how the Classic Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 25 has weathered the test of time? I mean, Audrey Hepburn looks like the epitome of the fashion icon that she was/is- in a picture that was taken long before I was born… And then, there’s Hilary Duff… just last year, with the same bag, and looking stylin’ as ever!
It just goes to show- this is one bag that you can buy today… care for it well, and then break it out in a decade or so, and still look hot! You can’t say that about most bags!
