blackfridaysale

Hope you all had a great day.  This has been another Thanksgiving- and once again- we here at Fashionphile (and myself especially) are so thankful to all of you for your continued support and loyalty!  Honestly- we love what we do- and thank you SOOOO much!  We've never done a sale like this before- but we thought it would be a perfect way to say how thankful we are for all of you.
I'm one of the suckers who LOVE Black Friday.  My family is together for Thanksgiving today- and we're making plans for tomorrow.  It took very little time to find out that we break down into two groups- the Black Friday shoppers, and the folks who start to sweat at the nightmare thought of shopping on one of the busiest retail days of the year.
So when we decided to throw this little sale- I wanted to make sure that no one will miss it!  If you hate to shop the day after Thanksgiving- then you can still take advantage of the fab deals available on our site.  But, for the crazy shoppers our there (I'm crazy too!) we all have time to hit the shops and then come home, have a leftover turkey & cranberry sandwich- and cuddle up on the couch with your laptop for little Fashionphile shopping!
Here's how it works and other fine print :)
  • It's a 24 hour Black Friday Sale.  So... this means it starts tonight at midnight Pacific time... (if you're a night owl- its your lucky day!)
  • You'll an additional 10% off all marked prices on fashionphile.com
  • Shop all day- but it's over Friday Night at midnight
  • Sorry, but sale items may not be placed on Layaway
  • Sale only applies to items bought and paid for on Nov 27th
  • Sale price not valid for items purchased prior to, or after Nov 27th
  • Regular shipping rates will apply (free FedEx Ground for US website purchases, varying rates for International.

Good luck and thanks again!!!

Pants on fire, Mr. Carcelle :)

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Things are still going pretty dang well for Louis Vuitton right now- even in this crazy economic climate.  And let's face it, current CEO and Chairman of the Board- Yves Carcelle is fantastic... and probably has something to do with that.

But I just wanted to comment on a couple things he said in an interview with Nandini Raghavendra, for the Economic Times.

When asked about the way that Louis Vuitton's view on distribution has effected LV during the economic crisis, Mr. Carcelle responded:

"We control 100% of our distribution, no one can discount or put our products on sale. Unlike many other international brands, we are never ever on discount or on sale."

Well, can't argue with that- it's totally true... if you're buying from a LV Boutique.  Louis Vuitton has 100% control of what's sold on the primary market (everything sold "brand new"- so, from your local Louis Vuitton, or instore boutique at Neimans, or online at eLux or louisvuitton.com) .  So you're not going to buy a brand new Louis Vuitton handbag on sale.

But the idea that "no one can discount or put our products on sale" is just not true.  (Although, based on what happened to distribution rights in the LV v. eBay France case ((not the counterfeit part of the decision, I back that- but the "distribution of parfumes etc. part))- I'm sure they'd love it if they did.)  Louis Vuitton does not have control of what's sold on the secondary market.   I love that market!  That's the "pre-owned" market!

We at Fashionphile alone, sold over 2 million dollars in guaranteed authentic, but "gently used" Louis Vuitton handbags and other accessories last year.  Over $25 million in authentic used Louis Vuitton goods were traded on eBay in the last year.  So there are options if you're looking for a discount on authentic Louis Vuitton... you just have to shop in the Secondary Market!  And in this economy, it's a fantastic place to buy!

But we TOTALLY agree with Mr. Carcelle on this one:

"I still do not believe the philosophy that people will change their habits. Yes, people will spend more sensibly, on value, increasingly make green decisions, but stop spending—no way, its human nature."

Hmmm, those shopping proclivities sound awfully familiar... Let's see...  Trying to think of a way to "spend more sensibly" (Fashionphile!) "on value" (Fashionphile!) and shopping in an effort to "increasingly make green decisions" (Fashinphile)!

Mr. Carcelle, on that one, we couldn't agree with you more!

Be sure to check them all out!  Again- if you missed the announcement.  Every single one of the auctions that we posted last Monday night began at 99¢ and we let them go without a reserve.  That means, they all start at 99¢ and will sell to the highest bidder for whatever amount you want to pay.  It's perfect for Christmas shopping in these turbulent economic times!

We're going to do one of these at least twice a year- but you may not see another for another 6 months.  Some of our loyal buyers are going to end up with bags at ending prices that are literally hundreds of dollars less than we'd normally hold out for.

*** Don't worry- while the new eBay listings that we post tonight won't be No Reserve, they will still ship for free!  The amazing things we sell on our main website, www.fashionphile.com will always ship free- but we're watching eBay to see how long to run the limited promotion.

Richard Prince Louis Vuitton Graduate

**READ ON FOR INFO ABOUT OUR HUGE SALE THIS WEEK**

Christmas is around the corner, and the economy is down the tubes!  But that doesn't mean that you can't get that fabulous authentic Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Marc Jacobs (etc. etc.) handbag you've had your eye on!

This week only, we have posted ALL of our eBay auctions this week as 99¢ NO reserve auctions.  We start them out and then just let them go.  We got a few of our regular consignors to agree to the sale- and the rest are things that we've purchased outright.  I'm feeling a little nostalgic, because those of you who have been with me for years, know that we only started using reserves a few years ago.  We were ALL no reserves for years before that!

Like the authentic pre-owned Louis Vuitton Richard Prince Graduate jokes bag pictured above?  It's currently up only up to $721 on eBay- no reserve.  Naturally, we hope it goes higher- but we're letting it go for what YOU think it's worth!

Reuter's announced yesterday that Recycled (pre-owned) is the way to go in a down economy... and we couldn't agree more!   Don't miss our auctions this week.

Click on any of the images below for a sneak preview.  All listed at huge bargains, with no reserve!
