(Hudson with a Louis Vuitton Denim Patchwork Bowly in the new SATC movie)

As she was cruising through her Sex and the City promotional interview circuit, Jennifer Hudson was asked over and over again whether she got to keep any of the amazing handbags that she carried in the movie (the LV Denim Patchwork Bowly and the LV Richard Prince Firebird that Carrie gives her for example…). But alas.. no go!

Apparently, Jennifer, like so many of us out there is a total “purse girl”. But she keeps herself in check. She got some solid advice from someone who knows:

“My mom says, ‘Don’t touch nothing you can’t pay for.’”

Such wise words. With the economy on a rough ride, the housing market struggling and the weak dollar… it’s a great time to look for relative bargains for the bags we can’t live without.

It’s total speculation, and I could be way off here- but I’m interested!

Howard Gesler of the Philadelphia Tattler* has seen the new Sex and the City movie (to be released May 30) and dishes out a few tidbits without ruining the story.

I thought this in particular was interesting:

“Hudson, a purse-a-holic, wants the Louis Vuitton bag she carries in the movie.

“I’m hoping if you guys write about it, I can get it,” she said. So the Vuitton bag would be at the height of fashion; “Sex and the City” filmmakers got the first one ever made.”

Hmmm, if not monogramouflage… any thoughts?
