So rumors are flying that it’s a wrap on the Louis Vuitton x Madonna photoshoot by Steven Meisel.  Apparently, it went down on Friday.  If you do a shoot in Argentina (like the Coppolas) it’s possible to keep secrets.  But when you’re shooting right here in LA, you know word’s gonna get out!

As Rock the Trend pointed out- here’s so much information available that you can can almost picture how it probably went down and can practically visualize the end result.

Here’s what’s going around the blogosphere:

• Steven Meisel took the pics, not Mert & Marcus (click here to reminise) or Alas & Piggott- as had been rumored (WWD, last time Madge & Meisel worked together, was or the cover & spread in Vanity Fair May 2008.  The picture at the top of this post is from this spread as well.  They’re old friends- who can forget his pictures in Madonna’s infamous Sex Book!)

• it went down on Friday at the Cafe Figaro in Los Angeles- check out its cool old bar below (Read the post & the comments on Diva Report’s post.)

• Meisel likes the French look of the Figaro Bistro check out the pics he shot for the September 2007 Vogue Magazine titled Paris, Je T’aime (check out all the pics at artemislives for foto decadent)

• Garren did her hair.   You can see what it looked like in the picture below from Friday night after the shoot and a little worship at the Kabbalah Center.  According to Drowned Madonna- Garren worked on the VF May 2008 shoot too!  (More pics at Madge-Tribe)

• it was styled by Marie Amelie Sauve so you know it’s gonna have a French vibe- Sauve’s the fashion editor for Vogue Paris and Balenciaga consultant (stylerumor)-

It’ll be really interesting to see how close the shoot is to the image I’ve got in my head!

So predicatably, Kane West made Vanity Fair Magazine’s “Best Dressed of 2008″ list.

But I thought it was interesting that as part of the interview for the spread, Kanye said,

Favorite fashion purchase of 2008: “A special-order red Epi leather Christopher backpack from Louis Vuitton.”

I’ve seen pics of Kanye with his Monogram Christopher AND his Damier Azure Christopher- but never a red Epi.  And I’ve seen pics of Don C with the Red Epi Christopher… but if they REALLY only made one…

Is Don C’s Christopher a “hand me down” or did he just think Kanye’s pack was hot (which the red epi is) and so he blogged about it.  In fairness… the post never said, “look at MY amazing SO Red Epi Christopher…”  I just assumed.

Hmmm, enquiring minds want to know!

So, I didn’t want to post the pictures from the Vanity Fair party that Louis Vuitton hosted at the Rodeo Boutique, because other bloggers have done that.  But I did want to share this picture.

There’s some comfy couches on the Rodeo Louis Vuitton rooftop, with some plain cushions… and also these cool almost monogram cushions (notice, no LV).

I got the picture from Anna Umemiya’s Blog.  It’s in Japanese, I believe, but she’s got some nice pictures.  And what a beauty she is!

But anyway, I wanted to post it because I’ve get emails asking me whether Louis Vuitton has ever made (fill in the blank, lighters, visors, stepping stools, etc).  So, I’ve been asked through the years whether Louis Vuitton ever did bed sets or throw pillows, and I always answer no.  Exhibit A:

I still haven’t seen a bedset, but I guess I’ll have to amend my answer about the throw pillows.  No, except…
