Production of leather emits methane into the atmosphere. This harmful chemical is more damaging to the environment than CO2. At the same time, potable water is needed in large amounts to fulfill production and suppress dust during excavation. The gold extraction process requires complicated machinery that continuously burn gas at alarming rates - much more than a vehicle.

We joined forces with mutual circular fashion empires including Rent The Runway, The RealReal, and thredUP to form the American Circular Textiles (ACT) policy group. Together we’re working toward advancing sustainable textile policies in the US.

Our goal is to address and participate in the ongoing growth of domestic textile recovery and push for end-of-life solutions with a heavy focus on textile reuse.
