Born into a family of drapers, Frédéric Boucheron at the age of 14 began his career in the jewelry business by first becoming a jewelry apprentice. His acquired understanding of material weight and balance from his family who often worked with various luxurious fabrics gave him a unique approach to design and jewelry innovation. He established the main Boucheron boutique in 1858 on Place Vendôme which still exists and operates as the main boutique location today. The Maison of high jewelry has brought to life many admirable pieces such as the Jodhpur necklace, the Quatre collection, the Question mark necklace, the iconic Serpent Bohème collection, and even the Reflect watch which brought about a unique patented system of interchangeable watch bracelets.
