The Louis Vuitton Conte de Fees (or fairy tale) line was created in 2002... formed in collaboration between Marc Jacobs and Julie Verhoeven. The entire line was very limited, in particular the beggars / besace / messenger bag. It is a beautiful, handmade, patchwork of all of Louis Vuitton's materials or building blocks... mini Monogram, Monogram, Vernis, Epi, and exotic skins (i.e., snakeskin). Truly a collectible... very rare! This bag is from the spring/summer collection 2002 - the so called "fairy tale" collection. Marc Jacobs answer to the events of September 11. He created the bags together with Julie Verhoeven. Made from light grey mini monogram canvas.. This is a truly rare and completely authentic Conte de Fees bag by Louis Vuitton. In response to 911, Marc Jacobs and Julie Verhoeven teamed up with Louis Vuitton to make this Conte de Fees ( translated = Fairy Tale ) limited edition line of bags in Spring/Summer of 2002. This messenger style bag was among the more rare of this already-limited line. The bag’s exterior is a gray mini monogram bag with gray leather trim and strap. It is lined in grey canvas with an open pocket against the back and an outside pocket on the back. It closes with a magnetic snap. The appliqu&eacute landscape background of trees and birds and clouds is detailed in vernis, damier, epi leather and snake skin. The snake skin is from a water snake called A Karung or Ayer and are not protected. You may find over time that the scales of the natural snake skin (the right tree in this case) may not lie flat over time. But this bag’s snake skin is still completely flat.
