Rolex

Hans Wilsdorf founded Rolex watches in 1905 in England. After WWI, Wilsdorf moved Rolex to Geneva, Switzerland, the watchmaking capital of the world. Soon after the move, Rolex released the world's first waterproof watch, the Rolex Oyster. The newly invented Rolex Oyster survived a ten hour swim across the English Channel, an event that brought a great amount of publicity to Rolex watches. Always ahead of the curve, Rolex then released a self-winding mechanism with a perpetual rotor, technology that eventually led the way to the first automatic watch. In 1945 Rolex unveiled another innovation, the Datejust watch. The Rolex Datejust watch uses a self-winding Chronometer to indicate the date, and was the first of its kind. Both the Oyster and the Datejust are (time)pieces of history. Other classic Rolex watches are the GMT-Master, and Day-Date.
